Daily rhythm

In Reception, our daily rhythm is fluid and leaves time for spontaneity, whilst still providing a general pattern to our days. Though the exact time at which things happen might change day-to-day, the general flow of events is similar. We follow a timetable like the one below.  This consists of adult-led, curriculum specific activities and child-led activities.

The timetable is fluid and changes around the children's interests 'in the moment' of play.  For example, if the children are interested in the ice on a cold morning, or if they have been engaged in building aeroplanes and airports, we will create an enabling environment for them to do this through playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically.
